About Shinobi Locksmiths: an Independent Locksmith in Glastonbury

Shinobi Locksmiths was founded by me, Rupert Simpson, as an independent locksmithing firm dedicated to serving local households and businesses in central Somerset with 24/7 emergency lockout availability. Whether you are a householder, landlord, letting agency, or national contractor seeking local locksmith support, I would be happy to assist.

After several years in public service roles responding to challenging situations where trust, integrity, and sound judgment were essential, I became a fully qualified solicitor specialising in housing management issues for landlords and local authorities. It was following many years of interest in lock mechanisms, and lockpicking, that I decided to train with MPL Locksmiths of Wakefield and obtained my qualification in locksmithing, accredited by City & Guilds, before founding Shinobi.

The name ‘Shinobi’ reflects the qualities I wanted my business to embody: precision, patience, discretion, and careful workmanship. My philosophy behind the firm is simple: to provide discretion and reliability when it comes to dealing with clients’ home security, as well as skill and precision in situations concerning emergency lockouts. I have invested in specialist equipment, and continually refine my skills in order to solve the majority of domestic lockout situations. Non-destructive entry is always the preferred option with destructive methods, such as lock drilling, only to be used as a last resort.

As a one man locksmithing firm, you can rest assured that when you call you will be dealing with me personally. If you call me and I am unable to assist in a timely fashion due to prior job commitments, or would be unreasonably delayed due to dealing with another emergency lockout, I will tell you and provide contact details for other trusted local locksmiths. I would rather recommend another local locksmith than promise a response time I cannot realistically keep.

As an independent locksmith in Glastonbury, I also cover the areas of Street, Wells, Cheddar, Bridgwater,  Burnham-on-Sea, Shepton Mallet, and Castle Cary, as well as surrounding rural areas. However, if you are unsure whether you are within my service area, or even beyond, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss any work you may require. I also welcome enquiries from trade professionals and subcontracting companies.
